14 Pax posted for our 1st modified Hogg schedule this past Saturday. We are no longer holding official Double Downs (nor recommending an “unofficial” one due to weather) @ #TheHogg on Saturday – one single 0630-0730 hrs WO, until further notice.
4 crazy Pax came early for a DD from 0530-0630 hrs (Britney, Cruiser, Leprechaun and PaceCar, plus Leprechaun’s TD having rucked the 3+ miles from home to the AO). With the high temperatures and humidity this morning, and going forward for the whole summer – everyone agreed the weather is just too dangerous for any more DDs or TDs. Please be careful this summer – hydrate, hydrate, hydrate… and when that isn’t working, drink something!
Dangerously disgusting – seemed like we were all breathing with 10% oxygen availability.
YHC is not a professional. F3 workouts are voluntary and FREE – you are here voluntarily #YouAgainstYou. Modify as needed. Notify the Q or rest of Pax of any serious medical conditions #PushYourselfButDontHurtYourself.
Warm Up – Circle of Pain (COP)
Circle up around the SFs – TAPs for Cheech, with further disclaimer on being safe at all AOs!
- SSHs x25 IC
- Merkins x10 IC
- SSHs x20 IC
Mosey to the back of the St Theresa’s Church parking lot with some: Side Shuffles along the way + Back Peddles. Circle up once again:
- Abe Vigodas x10 IC
- Grass Grabbers x10 IC
With the overnight rain – YHC decided to modify and skip what was planned with the sand bags. No need to test how heavy a 50lbs sandbag is when soaking wet… money is on at least 20% heavier.
Partner up – 1s & 2s, and #GrabSomeWall. P1 sprints a lap around church parking lot, while P2:
- Burpees AMRAP
- V-Ups AMRAP
- Squat Jumps AMRAP (like a box jump with no box #GetThoseKneesUpHigh)
Flap jacking with each Partner’s return – no rest when finished… then, Rinse & Repeat!
Walk back to the front of the church – then pick it up with a Mosey towards the swimming pool playground (i.e., closest watering hole)… Once we all realized how hot and wet it will be this morning, YHC modified and decided we would stay by the water fountains the rest of the WO! Let’s be smart this summer.
Grab some water – then #GrabSomeWall – let’s:
- Grape Stompers x20 IC
- Incline Merkins x10 IC
- Dips x20 IC
- Skull Crushers x20 (each leg) IC
Quick water break, then Rinse & Repeat, with a little extra:
- Grape Stompers x40 OYO
- Incline Merkins x20 OYO
- Dips x30 OYO
- Skull Crushers x40 (each leg) OYO
Water break, then find your partner. Hold his feet for Big Boy Sit-up-Ups* x15 and Flap Jack with your Partner. Modify to 30 standard Big Boy Sit-ups, if necessary.
*Big Boy Sit-up-Ups = standard Big Boy Sit-ups + stand all the way up when you get to the top of each sit up position.
Water break, then Line up – Double Apple Sauce for Indian Run around the swimming pool = 2 laps.
Water break, then mosey back to the SFs – Jailbreak when close. Circle up for last set of:
- Burpees x15 OYO, then 3 sets of 5 (bringing final tally to 50 burpees total for the day)
CountORama and NameORama
14 PAX, 0 FNGs (Let’s keep up the EH)
TAPs once again to Cheech and his family – reminder if anyone wants to contribute to his family: https://www.givesendgo.com/cheech. Let’s keep safe out there – grow eyes on the back of our heads, and always assume cars DO NOT see you out there. #SafetyFirst
Houston Tough Mudder > Nov 11-12th, 2017 > 5 Miles, 13 Obstacles, 1 Extraordinary Experience. Even dirtier than the Spartan Race, but just as much of a 2nd F team building experience. More info here. #CSAUP
Houston Spartan Sprint > March 24th, 2018 > 3-5 miles, 20-23 Obstacles. The Reebok Spartan Sprint: This is our shortest distance. It is perfect for athletes of all levels; from Spartan first timers to seasoned racers. The race is a fantastic test of your physical ability, but an even better 2nd F experience. More info here. #CSAUP
Twitter/BAND: We have a good comms system going for F3 Houston via Twitter and BAND. Get on either and look up F3 for regular updates and #Mumblechatter. Inferno or one of the other PAX (YHC included) can also help get you hooked up.
Thank you for letting me step up this morning!
