13 Pax posted for an Inferno of a 1776 workout on this anniversary of our nation’s birth.
Weather was what we have all grown accustomed to and just wet enough to keep us breathing hard.

The Thang
Mosey around the back of St Theresa – with butt kickers, high knees, side shuffles, and back peddle …but wait, (stay sharp) don’t stop at the back parking lot, keep going back to towards the SFs.
Circle up around the SFs for:
- SSHs x25 IC
- Merkins x15 IC
- SSHs x20 IC
Let’s Mosey a little to the adjacent field just passed the trees yonder, and line up.
At this point after noticing a bit too much silence as we knocked out the following exercises, Duggar brilliantly provided us some much needed soundtrack during the balance of the day’s WO… mostly USA-inspired theme songs.
- Walking Imperial Walkers across the field (approx 35 each way)
- Little Baby Armcircles x 25 IC, then flapjack opposite direction (for 200 total both ways)
- Walking Imperial Walkers back down the field
- Little Baby Armcircles x 25 IC, then flapjack opposite direction
Rinse & Repeat 5 times
- Walking Imperial Walkers across the field
- Partner up for Big Boy Situps x 15
- Walking Imperial Walkers back down the field
- Partner up for Big Boy Situps x 15
Rinse & Repeat 5 times
- 10-count break
- Let’s Mosey to stretch out a bit…
Once we ran about half a mile around The Hogg’s usual sights – and we approached our usual 0615 hrs cutoff time, everyone agreed we were having such a good time we decided to continue the WO and close out the hour (since it was a holiday and nobody heading to the office).
At this point, we ran back and picked up all the SFs to run with them on El Camino Royal in formation with the flags. We stopped for a few pain stations throughout:
- Derkins,
- Dips,
- SSH, and
- a single Big Boy Sit-up (needed to get us to 76 total**)
…and I also remember thinking about Burpees, but can’t honestly remember if we actually did them – since towards the end The Bishop pointed out what song came on our setlist…
It was a sight to behold when during one of our pain stations above, the national anthem of the United States of America blared over our speakers and we all stopped in our tracks to honor our flag and our nation – on this of all holidays. Even a few other runners stopped with us in honor.
** For those counting at home, we completed:
- 1,000 Little Baby Arm Circles
- 700 walking Imperial Walkers
- 76 Big Boy Sit-ups
- For a total of 1776 exercises + all the bonus work we completed throughout the total 2.75 miles!
Even though it was a Tuesday, since it was a holiday we went to an impromptu Coffeeteria. It was a beautiful morning, and great way to start the day. Thank you all again for the chance to lead this amazing group of men.
