  • Partner Big Boy Sit-ups x 20
  • Partner hand slap merkins x 15

R&R

Mosey to Camos truck to pick up your ‘lil darlin and mosey to soccer fields at the park for a round of crazy bear (to beat the bear, you have to be the bear). All crawls were 10 yards

  • Copperhead Squats w/lil darlins held at chest  x 20 IC
  • Bear Crawl
  • Diamondback merkin (copperhead diamond merkin) x 15 IC (YHCs favorite)
  • Crawl Bear (put that bear in reverse)
  • Low flutter w/lil darlins held above chest (get those elbows up) x 20 IC
  • Bear Crawl
  • Mountain climbers x 20 IC
  • Crawl Bear
  • Bears x 10 OYO

We needed several 10 counts to get through the round so YHC decided we need some R&R action.  I was pleased that the PAX finished round 2 about 1.5 mins quicker than round 1.  It was satisfying seeing the PAX violently tossing their lil darlins after finishing round 2.

Mosey to the playground and line up your lil darlin on the hill. Split into 2 groups

  • Group 1 has 15 swerkins (thanks Bishop for these)
  • Group 2 has 5 burp-ups on the pull-up bars (Camo served as the neighborhood alarm clock #getsome…whooo)

R&R

After the second round, the Pax was looking a little tired so YHC took them on a short recovery mosey (really just needed to discreetly relocate the PAX to a larger space).

Circle up PAX for YHC’s safety training.

Calling this Mountain Survival – PAX start chopping feet as if they were running from something. When Q yells fire, PAX drops and rolls left, merkin, roll right and pop back up and chop those feet. When Q yells Bear, PAX drops and climbs the mountain (mountain climbers) until Q yells up at which PAX pops up and chops feet until next call out.  School was in session for about 4 minutes and all are prepared to survive their next camping trip.

Mosey back to Shovel Flags after picking up the lil darlins.

Finished the VQ with a round of dealer’s choice Mary. Immediately regretted dealer’s choice once Camo served up some Carolina Dry Docks which Bullseye followed with more Mountain Climbers #vetmoves #smoketheQ #embracethesuck

CountORama and NameORama

9 PAX – Camo, Bullseye (R), Knob Creek, KFC, Choo Choo, Neon, Pegasus (FNG), Grizzly (FNG), Tater (VQ).  Welcome Pegasus (PP Bullseye) and Grizzly (PP Choo Choo).  Great work PAX on getting some FNGs for my VQ! #GiveItAway

COT

TAPs for YHCs great uncle as he battles advanced stages of Alzheimer’s, Moose’s mother who is in cancer treatment at MD and Grizzly’s sister in law as she batttles cancer as well.  YHC shared with the pack about an upcoming job change. YHC took us out reminding the PAX to take up their cross daily.

NakedManMoleskin

For my VQ, I spent about two weeks trying to find the right mix of exercises that would not only provide a solid BD but also reflect something in my life.  Therefore, I tried to incorporate my favorite exercises learned the past month and every Bear exercise I knew of.  The reason for Bear exercises came from my lifelong fascination with these amazing animals and was structured around a Ruck WO I saw online.  The initial count on exercises was actually the weight of my first black bear taken when I was 14 in the Idaho mountains with my Grandpa.  However, that Q strength allowed us to exceed the initial amount planned.  Great work PAX!

Additionally, I wanted to make sure I did my part to ready #TheKingdom Pax for TX GrowRuck (@Leprechaun – challenged accepted and mission accomplished).

I discovered the hardest part of being the Q is writing these BBs which I attribute to the power of the PAX you gain as Q during the WO.  Specifically, I would like to thank Knob Creek and Camo for helping me work through the logistics on my WO.  Thanks to Bullseye for being the radio man as I completely forgot to grab my phone as Q.  And my 2.0s for letting me run them through the exercises the past week.

Furthermore, thank you to the larger F3 Houston PAX for your willingness to take time to teach new comers the ropes.

I am already thinking about my next Q and possible taking the Tater show on the road.
