12 PAX arrived at #TheHogg to find the grass areas flooded, the wind blowing stiffly, and the temperature dropping over the course of the morning. YHC, being a merciful Q, stayed to the pavement and high ground as much as possible. Great to see some fresh faces out there.

The Thang

Mosey past Murphy’s Bleachers to the softball field parking lot for Hindenberg BLIMPS, running the length of the lot with an exercise at each end. All OYO, push yourself:

  • Burpees x10
  • Lunges x20
  • IW x30
  • Merkins x40
  • Plank Jacks x50
  • Squats x60

Mosey along the highest ground between the softball and kickball fields to the Bridge to Nowhere. Line up on the fence for Bear Crawl BOMBS, bear crawling from fence to ditch with an exercise at each end. All OYO, push yourself:

  • Burpees x10
  • Overhead Claps x20
  • Merkins x30
  • BBSU x40
  • Squats x50

Mosey across the Bridge to Nowhere, lining up at the back of St. Theresa’s Backside for bear crawl to the parking lot drain, sprint to the wall, when the Six is in, Balls to the Wall for a Guitar Hero 10-Count (#foreshadowing).

Partner up 1-2 for Hammer Time DORA 123. Partner 1 exercises, Partner 2 runs a lap of the parking lot, flapjack:

  • Bridges x100
  • J-Lo x200
  • Pickle Pounder x300 (Merciful-Q modify)

YHC took the time to explain to the PAX the origins of the Hammer Time DORA. Back when Hammer Time posted at #TheHogg, prior to the launch of #TheRocket, he would include a phrase of being “better lovers” when taking the PAX out at the end of the workout. In YHC’s zeal, I failed to make it clear that this was a traditional DORA 123 so reps were 100, 200, 300. Recovery Mosey to the end of the parking lot for:

  • Bear crawl to the parking lot drain
  • Sprint to the wall
  • Balls to the Wall for a YHC 10-Count.
  • RnR x3 with GH 10-Count, YHC 10-Count, and GH+YHC 10-Count (modify with Angry Chair, if needed).

Line up single file and Indian Run through the neighborhood (didn’t turn at the first right hand turn) and back to a little dry spot to circle up for:

  • Merkin Relay x2
  • Monkey Humper Relay x1

12 PAX, no FNGs. Great to have #kotters Louie Vitton and Dowry back #TheHogg. We hope to see Rocky Top back – he just moved to Houston from NOLA; the only downside to his appearance this morning was that he already had an F3 name – YHC was one of many itching for a new FNG we could name Moose Knuckle. Great to see The Bishop back in the saddle and his #mumblechatter can’t be far behind; it’s mostly slapstick physical comedy at this point.

YHC took us out with TAPs for those mentioned above, gratefulness for all our good fortune, and strength for those facing storm clouds.


This workout was inspired by H-Bomb. No, there were no dance moves inspired by my 2.0, but his workout on Thursday was broadly remarked upon as “sneaky tough.” What was it? Running and core work (among other things). So what do YHC and the PAX need? More running and core work.

YHC likes Qs to explain exercises clearly and to keep the PAX moving. As mentioned above, on the Hammer Time DORA 123 YHC did not live up to my own standard. It’s duly noted and on the self-improvement checklist. If you felt like we didn’t keep moving, let me know.

The Bishop tried to pull my pants down. Can’t wait until he gets the #mumblechatter back.
