The Thang

PAX
The gents training for Growruck met up at the AO at 0400 and participated in a 5 mile ruck through the spooky trails around the bayou side of Memorial Park. Cruiser introduced us to his friend, FNG “Blue Jerry,” a 60 pound 10 gallon blue water jerry can. We found Jerry to be awkward and silent for most of the ruck. He was difficult to handle, but we enthusiastically put up with him – he is now a most welcome part of our team.
The rucking PAX worked hard together to navigate through some difficult terrain given the recent rains. Numerous “Deliverance” jokes were mumble – chattered during this timeframe, except for the last guy in the line, as it was pretty spooky at the 6. Mud slides were common, and we all had a good time.
On the way out of the trailhead, we linked up with Brexit (his first ruck congrats man!) and Beanie, and then the entire rucking PAX made their way back to the AO.
At 0600, the entire PAX began the workout – it was awesome to have so many men show up, including FNG Tortuga (a friend of Lambo, Proud Papa) and also Buffet, who was in town for a wedding and down range from Chapel Hill NC). The following evolutions were performed:

19 PX Total, names above. A really great comment from Buffet, who struck home during the Ball of Man the fact that you can show up to any AO across the Nation and be welcomed. Great to have you Buffet, and please come on back any time!

We also welcomed FNG Jonathan Slaughter, who changed his hospital name to F3-Tortuga. Welcome man! We hope to see you post for a second helping here or at any one of our other AOs

COT

TAPS to KFC’s daughter, who is still fighting strong and recovering from cancer. Also TAPS to the Swendsen family. Keep them in your thoughts.

NakedManMoleskin

A great ruck and workout today – the entire PAX pushed themselves hard. The picture of Cruiser holding Jerry sums it all up – hard work, getting out of our comfort zone, challenging ourselves, lifting heavy things (physically and spiritually) and showing up to support others who seek to do the same thing.
